PFUJ condemns threats to Dawn journalist Munawar Azeem

ISLAMABAD —Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has strongly condemned threats to Dawn crime reporter Munawar Azeem and showed concern over unknown individuals attempting to break into his car parked in his house.

PFUJ President Shahzada Zulfiqar and Secretary-General Nasir Zaidi urged the federal government and Islamabad Police to ensure the safety and security of all media persons.

They said that they have been raising concern over attacks on journalists for a long time, but the government was paying no heed.

They said authorities are duty-bound to ensure the safety and security of the lives and property of all citizens, including journalists.
